Mike had been listening to Terry Riley and the influence shows on this album. My friend Lyndon (the 16 year old with the massive record collection in 1977) really rated this album. I respected his opinion as he had exquisite taste and I was surprised when he mentioned Mike Oldfield, he usually swerved popular tastes. I found a copy (beige labels) in great condition in a charity shop recently for £1 so wisley invested. It's a good listen.

To me, this album is the best album ever made, regardless of genre. It is up there with Astral Weeks/Van Morrison and A Love Supreme/John Coltrane. This first UK Pressing with the HTM (Harry Moss) stamps is the best sounding version, followed by the one in the "Boxed" set, which has a very different mix.
