A bit confused by the reviews here - it's a quiet pressing but turned up loud it sounds bloody great, the bass is huge and the vocals and synths are delicate and nicely spaced out. The first track sounds a little dull because the recording itself is like that, but the second Sleep Sound begins it's clear and detailed. I've heard way too many badly pressed records, but this isn't one of them. Maybe I got lucky with the lack of background noise, but I'm listening to the exact same cut as everyone else so the complaints here are baffling me. (I know it's not the 2020 repress because I bought it in about 2017!)

Edited 10 months agoDo not buy this pressing. Been in with label - they knew the problem. They told me that they will send me new one with better pressing. Never happened.

Jesus H Christ. What a TERRIBLE pressing. I put this on and thought my system was f***ed. Listened to some Underworld before and you can really tell that everybody involved here just didn't give two fucks about the quality here. Jamie bought some records from me after he released this album and hopefully he sees all these reviews and takes note. Its basically shitting on his fanbase. Have some pride in your output dude. jeez.....

Worst pressed record I've ever heard... it's disgraceful... I should have sent it back but needed it for a party. ugh

Didn't listen to anyone. Its one of the best pressing album in my collection for last year. Maybe, lower than others, but very dynamic and reach sound. Not compared with cd yet, and don't need to. LP is perfect

Possibly the worst cut album in my entire collection. Its so low and has absolutely no life in it whatsoever. Utter crap. You have been warned. Go digital on this album.

It's an amazing album no doubt but this pressing is pretty average and is going to be vary for everyone depending on your setup.
Unfortunately my copy skips at the start of A2 - 'Sleep Sound' and you can frequently hear the pops and crackles. It's definitely muddy and it could be a more dynamic sound. There's a ton of bass which I like but that definitely affects the quality of the recording as others have said. Cleaning the vinyl and stylus doesn't help much. As everyone has said, too many tracks squeezed in on discs really compromises the quality of this release.
This album needs to be repressed as 2 LPs, mixed, mastered and pressed elsewhere. I would be happy to pay for a 3LP edition (all black vinyl) if it ever came out as that could really bring out the depth in the songs.
