BUYER BEWARE: My copy of this release has started to pinhole.
My advice is to rip it asap before the pinholes increase & become problematic for playback of the CD. -

Edited one year agoI immediately noticed this version is longer than the LP, anyway is the first CD I bought in years as I realised the original was DDD, being used to Vinyl this CD it is a Joy, to enjoy it best In my opinion you could:
- Crack the volume, this is the opposite of loudness war, it is incredible quiete and needs some volume to shine. There are hard differences in the minimal volume between songs.
- Low the treble, even for modern digital it is a bright recording but very easy to reign. Ignore me if you just listen to streaming. It is moderate in bass, hence no surprise many like the Vinyl colouration in it, you may need for once put some base in your system.
The mix is top notch but the dynamic range sometimes forces you to change volume between songs what explains the mild compression of the 1996 remaster, once said that this is the original and I never liked the remaster for mere taste reasons. -
I just had a listen on my UK vinyl of Side 1. You do feel somewhat cheated with some of the track being shorter, especially Why Worry being nearly 3 minutes shorter. Still a cracking album though! On to Side 2...........
