Yeah Elton had a few good sounding albums. By the time Rock of the Westies came out it was back to the bad sound

Amazing album and this pressing sounds great. The gatefold and the booklet in my copy are near perfect. A must have album. -
Phenomenal sounding translucent red UK hot-wax, from the opening notes of 'Daniel' you know you are in for a sonic treat. Amazing clarity to Elton's voice & keys, note-for-note bass & good punchy drums all artfully mixed in a wonderfully enveloping stereo soundstage. LPs like this are the reason listening to vinyl can be a truely special occasion... -
Vinyl is really translucent red if held against the strong light, the notes shows this, the vinyl is black but under the strongest light it is appears Red -
Quiet vinyl with great stereo separation and lively sonics. Same flavor of song styles as GBYBR.

I think discogs.futbolgratis.org should pay more attention to distinguish between year of recording/manufacturing vs. year of release. Like with this one (Elton John-Don't shoot me...) album, info just states "year" without any hint as to what in the album developing process "year" refers to. Otherwise discogs.futbolgratis.org is an AMAZING website so thank you for that.

This album was plagued with technical difficulties so I doubt it'll never rise to the sonic levels it probably should but I'm guessing early copies will sound the best. The newer remixes sharpen it up but you lose the 'involvement' in my opinion. Having said all that this is a really good piece of pop from Elton. It's bouncy pop style means that 'Have mercy on the Criminal' and "Blues for Baby and me' often get overlooked but these are excellent pieces.
