Notes

A MPO pressing also exists.

Three-folded cover. Heavyweight, laminated, plain black inner sleeves. Some copies contain a post card.
While the Damont pressing has "solid" black inner sleeves with die-cut finger slot at the top (see photo), the MPO pressing comes with centre circle die-cut black inners.

Just for clarity on the runout matrix. The matrix is etched 'CRELP189' with the corresponding side and number. Also 'DAMONT' is etched, usually on the opposite side of the runout.

"Cast No Shadow" is dedicated to the genius of Richard Ashcroft.
"Hello" excerpt taken from Hello! Hello! I'm Back Again, written by Gary Glitter and Mike Leander. Published by MCA Music Ltd.
Publishers except for A1: Creation Songs Ltd. / Sony Music Publishing

Warning:
There are counterfeits from both 2010 which look similar to the original but the sleeve has a slightly unsharp print.

I can’t stress enough the amount of different CD’s I’ve been through to actually determine if a CD sound is better than this. Long story short it’s not. Seriously it’s just not. This damont pressing brings another level of depth that you just will not get on a CD. Having said that, this and the 2009 are the closest you are getting to true representation of this albums sound. This was NEVER an audiophile sound to begin with, it just got so much worse with the new remasters on vinyl.

My friend that listens to the cd said this sounded better. I haven’t listened to the cd enough so I can’t say but I just got the vinyl yesterday and it really made the songs shine. Also each side of the vinyl is its own vibe. I’m super happy that I didn’t spend a lot and got such a great play copy. The sleeve is a vg but it still looks very good as it should haha. Goddamn I love oasis.

This is a little dull compared to the CD. Dynamics are about the same, but the CD has better upper midrange (more bite to the guitars) and an extended top end.

Do any of you kind, lucky souls who own this pressing care to share a needle drop?

I had bought the first Oasis album and thought this music is not right up my street and I would never buy another Oasis record, but when I saw the cover of the album”Whats the storey”,blimey I actually have to have this purely based on the cover shot(Select@disc on the left as well Reckless records.)who I had visited several times,I thought this must be thing that’s gonna hit you in the head hard time. This record is fabulous in of classic songwriting,Don’t look back in anger,Wonderwall,ou yeah.A timeless record indeed!

It should be an anthem of the nineties, and it deserved a better recording budget.
But this LP sounds good for being digital, however you have to tune the audio equipment to the maximum.

def an original and this record sufferes from 1990s brickwall mastering .. I love love the record and its big sounding but dynamics are .. meh

Bought my copy back in '95 at a hifi shop on the day I bought the turntable I'm still using, decided I needed a new record to try out the turntable and there it was on the display they had in the shop. It cost about £20 as I which was a lot for an LP back then but seems it was a good investment. For those questioning why this is selling for so much now, well most record shops had stopped even stocking vinyl by '95 and because of that they were only produced in small numbers, so no matter how many albums were sold by a band very few of them were on vinyl. Almost everything produced in the 90s has seen its price go through the roof because of that. It sucks but that's life, it's all down to supply and demand. Anyway, for those willing to pay the prices I'd say go for it, no other version sounds like this one, it just leaps out of the speakers and batters you across the face....in a good way :)

Maks sure yours says "DAMONT" as they only pressed 5,000 and it's highly unlikely that all loggers have checked for that in the deadwax...
