B-Sides are a fantastic set of releases and Volume Two doesn't disappoint, "Magic Orchestra" is the stand out track with its huge driving synth, and got a huge amount of play. The other three tracks are well worth listening too as well. "Freestyle 909" with a huge deep driving bassline with similarities to Reese & Santonio "Rock To The Beat", "Latino" with is summer uplifting vibes and "Heart Of The Moment" with is jazzy tones.

Magic Orchestra Now That's A Tune, No Wonder Its Liked By The Masses, Another Melody Whereupon The First Time You Heard It You Knew...Progression.

Latino is a very nice cover version of Sueno Latino. I like it!

Freestyle 909 - woosh. Heavy, serious, dark and epic tune. If you like Reese & Santonio's/101's 'Rock To The Beat' sound and feel, you'll need to check it out as soon as possible if you're not familiar with it already. Equal in first place is Magic Orchestra with its expansive warehouse rave feel. Sounds much better blasting out of 50K speakers by the way. Latino is nice for a mellower set. The Heat Of The Moment is a proper loser. Complete tripe. Sounds like a horrid Kenny G / Freestyle crossover with that horrible sax. Yuk :(

B-Sides Vol II - MAGIC ORCHESTRA. If you ask me to name one big underground rave track from back in the day, that's it.

Frank De Wulf's seminal B-Sides tracks were a flagship of quality in the very early 90s for techno & house music, which were pretty much a guaranteed success for the dancefloor and for listening pleasure. This release being one of my personal favourites of th B-Sides series.

A1 Magic Orchestra is a bit of an anthem played at all the underground clubs and much sampled, appeared as a very good remix on "The B-Sides Remixed" release in the early part of 1991.
A2 Freestyle 909 (my personal fave on this EP), has a basic 4/4 909 beat with a dark, stark, sinister, massive Detroit soundtrack inspired, heart stopping string-synth akin to Reese's "Rock To The Beat" but played with even darker, striking chords, a couple of chorus breaks with key stabs in between, reminiscent of "Strings Of Life". No nonsense techno tunage.
A3 "Latino" is subdued and soulful, with a mellower, groovy house sound reminiscent of what is already mentioned above referring to "Last Rhythm"...nice track.
A4 "Heat Of The Moment" is another mellow track with lots of ambience and nice breaks, with a horrible saxophone riff...big, big downfall for me and topped off with the spoken, tacky, naff, cheesy vocals. Ignore B2 unless you get a kick from shmaltzy, corny music.

Overall though, a good, quality package of varied old school sounds for varied tastes.
