Cortex (6) – Troupeau Bleu

Got it for like 25 bux at a local record store, can’t complain, sounds pretty good to my ears.

my copy was warped but I assume that mine was a one-off accident. Sounds great still, and no surface noise

It seems there is some confusion regaring this pressing and the 2020 reissue, both come with posters and are incredibly similar if not identical. I own this issue, and it sounds awful. Noisy record, poor and VERY quiet mastering. I can't speak to the 2020 reissue, and I wish I'd bought it instead of this one because of the good reviews on it. There are some negative reviews there, but again I think it's just confusion between the two presses as there's hardly a difference. Worth noting I also picked up the 2013 Cortex Vol. 2 which is similarly noisy and poorly mastered. Hope that helps anybody looking for a good press. This will be posted across both editions mentioned.

Sounds great, quiet and defined. The marble came out nice too. Aside from that, what a stellar album.

Go Round has terrible high end distortion on my copy. Returned to shop, but they wouldn’t exchange 1:1 because they were concerned it could be a pressing issue. Anybody else have that issue??

Je suis assez d'accord avec les commentaires "négatifs", habitué a écouter cet album en streaming sur Qobuz j'était super content de trouver sa réédition en vinyl. Pour moi, le son est moins bon, Moins de gain mais surtout manque de dynamique dans les mediums et les graves, on dirait qu'il y a un voile. Cela dit ... c'est un super album.
