Have had this set for almost two years now and it’s become my favorite part of my collection, bar none. Bureau B’s mastering job here made me feel like I was rediscovering these albums all over again. Perhaps not the complete collection some might be looking for, but it is, as I see it, how a great band with a complicated history wants to be ed, and I find that commendable.

Edited 2 years agoGreetings, lads, found very limited stock new on:
http://www.rermegacorp.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Category_Code=&Product_Code=vinylbox&Store_Code=RM
For 200 Pounds including shipping. Just received it 1-9-23. -
Finally caved and bought this - not overly expensive at £220 and worth every penny. Its a beautiful thing, really well pressed and with clear sound. Quite tremendous

I hope Bureau B will make Momentaufnahme I & II available individually!
My Pre-Order of the CD box set never arrived and Importcds refunded me after many months. I had emailed Bureau B months ago asking if they would do a second press of the box which they won't, but they said they would probably release Punk't seperately (which they have now) and maybe Momentaufnahme as well.
I can only hope they will since my Pre-Order evaporated into thin air. -
just got this box----i didn't have any of the Faust records separately. LOVE this box set. I feel like it captures this era of Faust so beautifully----their music was strange, odd, wonderful, wandering, and so unique. I was lucky to get it at a good price closer to the price new at my local shop. Amazed to see how it's doubled in price. Keep your eyes peeled at your local record stores! Highly recommended.

Been digging into this thing lately, and it really is a well-executed set. Sure, the booklet could be a little bit more robust, but the photos and memories are very sweet and thoughtful, and there are always the more extensive Wumme Years box notes to fall back on. The mastering and manufacturing of the LPs is quite good, with each one I've listened to so far very quiet and warm. I feel lucky to have gotten my hands on one of these for the original list price...

Gorgeous box and I’d recommend it across the board, but one caveat: every LP outer jacket of my copy either has a 1-inch upper spine split or the beginnings of a split. ittedly, the box comes in shrink and therefore the label wouldn’t immediately know this; I’m sure it happened during shipping and not as a manufacturing flaw. That said, any box like this, due to size and weight, can be prone to the LPs/jackets shifting inside, and therefore the label should have made some additional spine edge protection or padding inside the box to prevent such a shift and this type of damage. I have no idea what degree of decrease in $$$ value will result due to this flaw.

Fwiw, member cidrolin posted the following to the Steve Hoffman forum in a thread titled New Complete Faust Set:
"About four months ago I asked Amaury about the technicals on the Faust Mailing List.
He received the digital files of Clear / So Far / Tapes / IV directly from Bureau B.
Regarding the rest of the box he wrote:
Punkt and Momentaufnahme (I & II) were mixed from analogue tapes transported on digital files.
This is a completely transparent transition from original reels to files.
There were two-track recordings (on 1/4 inch tape) as well as eight-track recordings on two inch tape.
Jean-Hervé and I sorted and selected from hours of music! :)
I then worked digitally in my DAW using analogue effects (compressors, EQ, reverb) as well as some good plugins.
So for some time now I have been working with a hybrid system that mixes analogue and digital.
Same thing for the mastering, I use analog effects and some plugins.
For each album I did a mastering for the vinyl pressing and a second one for the compact disc."
