sounds absolutely fantastic. can be wary of electronic records on wax, but this one is rich, full, and very lively.

A really nice album and I was extremely lucky and got the purple pressing. But what the hell is the track "I Know There's Gonna Be (Good Times)" supposed to be? Absolute rubbish. Absolutely does not fit into the album. Especially if you listen to "Loud Places" beforehand. It's like driving a tree with a Ferrari at full speed without braking. First you dream of "Loud Places" and float away and then crasssshhhh.

I previously owned a 2015 black vinyl release of this, and it was poor. Like the previous poster said themselves, the mix was quiet which isn’t an issue in itself. But the surface noise became distracting and overpowering if you turned the volume up.
I traded it in and got this remastered purple version in its place which I’m delighted with. Much clearer, far less surface noise and the bass is fantastic. If you enjoy this album then don’t hesitate to get this version! -
I own an original UK black pressing so this will be a comparison after listening to both of them.
The original was for some one of the worst records they'd heard. I'd heard a friends copy and I can believe it. There were claims of it being mixed/mastered too quiet and having no bass. It did indeed need turning up, however that doesn't always have to be a bad thing. The bass was fine on my copy. Where it does bring a problem was the surface noise was a plenty! And turning up the volume only made it louder too of course.
So for this remastered purple reissue... Well, it's mixed/mastered similarly quiet, so you'll need to turn it up once again. The bass is definitely there. Had to turn it down at one point it was so pronounced. And the key reason for buying it personally, it doesn't suffer from horrendous surface noise throughout. There is absolutely crackle dotted around, so it's by no means ideal, but it's now a listenable album on vinyl for me. Your results may vary.
A disappointment is with the inner sleeve. The quality of the inner sleeve/liner notes is of totally inferior quality compared to the original. The original had a strong glossy finish. The reissue is less sturdy, and when it arrived, the record had already penetrated through it! The liner notes are also different of course with the credits so it's not like you can just swap them out between the OG and RE if you want to keep it true to presentation. Seems they cheaped out.
Also be aware this is a UK purple pressing, there is apparently a US version too, so don't get confused. -
Edited 4 years agoAnyone want to trade an orange unplayed copy for a green unplayed copy? Trying to collect each color. Message me, if so.

sounds really good, but my copy came with a severe warp, will see how flattening goes, anybody else have a similar issue?
