It might be handy to note that this release has the full picture cover as well as from the photos this is not obvious - but was happy to find that its a fully fledged repress.

I can attest that this reissue sounds very good. I've been waiting on a colored pressing for years and scooped this fast! It was worth it.

This shit made me cry. I had the 2016 version which was impressive, but this one is a killer. Bad thing I found was the background noise (certainly not tape noise) even after a thorough cleaning. Bottom line: It sounds BRILL.

Sound is truly incredible. Resonant bass, solid stereo separation and the overall clarity you would expect from being mastered from tape and via abbey road. Only very very slight detractor is overall mastering volume is on the low side so combine this with coloured vinyl and multiple plays might yield some sonic weirdness from wear. But upon first two plays sounds absolutely crisp and pretty quiet considering the coloured vinyl
Would highly recommend -
Edited 4 years agoGreat release. It doesn't quite have that extra something that a fully AAA release has, but it sounds very good. I don't have another version to compare it to but the separation is good, the pressing is clean and quiet, the bass is there (although it doesn't dig deep), well worth the price. If you are a fan of Jorge Ben and / or other Brazillian Jazz Funk Soul Psych artists from the era, this is a no-brainer.
