I don't have a quad setup (yet!), so obviously I'm not hearing the full effect here. But listening in stereo is still an interesting experience, and quite different from the stereo presentation. I hear parts of the music I never noticed, instruments I never heard. I got the same effect listening to my quad copy of Bitches Brew. In stereo there's some great reverb in parts of this that give the music a new dimension. Good to have both the stereo and quad.

Edited 5 years agoI was looking for a clean OG copy of this killer set from Hancock/Henderson/Hart etc, & despite not having a Quadrophonic system, gave it a go, as playback in standard X2 speaker stereo is perfectly possible. Lucky punt, nearly jumped out my skin as those analog metallic raindrops of 'Rain Dance' popped right out the speakers like acid tinged kick drums... Sadly I can't compare to the standard '73 retail release, however I've heard several reissues & none come remotely close to the bright detail & rich depth of this recording... God only.knows what it sounds like on quad; I might have to invest someday. Highly recommended format, & of course, incredible music, only as you perhaps never heard in such clarity.
