This is my first funk record and it is absolutely awesome. I've been listening to different funk bands online and I think this band is just as great. I just wish the band had more albums. GREAT record!

This record, along with The Ghetto Brothers' "Power Fuerza," is some of the grittiest 70's NYC Latin-Funk Rock I've ever heard. I hear Tower of Power, Malo, Mandrill....excellent album.

I got this lp in 1973
at that time growing up in the bronx
the music then was our funk latin jazz and rock
well this lp was one then.
everything was politcal back then as it is now
but this track julie nixon woke me up
it spoke truth and was funky as hell
b-boy style back then before it was call b-boy
regular rotation on radio wwrl and wlib and wnjr and wbls
this was part of my school learnig,
what every happen to the music today?

I aptly discovered this group on the 25th December 2009. I had been searching through the archives, hoping I could find an obscure funk album with each member varying significantly in styles, an interesting cover, vaguely political lyrics, and very tight and memorable grooves. I was getting slightly worn out and frustrated that I couldn't find the album to peak my enthusiasm, until I found this one on Christmas Day.

The opening track, "Scuffle", is an excellent achievement of rock guitars along with funky horns, vocals and rhythms. "Julie Nixon" is just something else. Classic funk with the most bizarre lyrics. "Fools Are You" is my favourite track on this, though. Very soulful lyrics, with funky beats to back it up, and a really strong Latin instrumental. "Groupie" is jazzy to start off with, and "Guitar Man" is another really great song, but I love all the tracks, really.

I'm a bit bewildered that I had to write the discogs entry on this album, because this album SHOULD get more recognition; it's an absolute masterpiece, and a diamond for funk lovers & collectors.
