To anyone wondering- Steve Hoffman himself confirmed that the masterings are IDENTICAL whether or not it has one/both initials in the deadwax. 'KPG+SH', 'KPG', no difference, same thing.

Edited 2 years agoI have a 2008 with Side A, variant 1 in the deadwax and Side B, variant 1. I'd be interested in hearing a copy with Side B, variant 2, SH+KPG with both Hoffman and Gray's mastering. As it stands this is an excellent sounding disk.

I agree with the other comments below, this is crazy good! Everything sounds so natural and balanced and as it should be - such a gem to have in the collection - everyone should have a copy of this in their LP Library. So glad I was able to hunt a copy down from a great US seller. So worth the effort and extra expense.

Really nice! Moondance is a well-known masterpiece, so no need to comment on the music. I don't have other pressings to compare, but I feel no need to try any others, as this one is a beauty. Great separation and clarity, Drums are understated in the mix, but that's probably how it was probably intended. As a drummer, that is my only complaint. Otherwise, it really sounds lovely.

Picked this up this weekend, bathed it in my Spin Clean and listening right now. Damn, this is so gooooood!

I would have given this five star, but I found a mark on Moondance track that look like it would impact play back. Good news it did not, sounds like it is not there.
Unfortunately, my expectations are high, so I can not with good conscience give it a full five star due to this mark that looks like it is scratch. -
Such an intimate recording, the sax steams out of the speakers so smoothly. Kevin did this cut justice, and the nice heavy jacket is a great added bonus

Absolutely amazing sounding LP, mastered and cut by Hoffman & Gray with such finesse it's like listening to a different mix. The bass is outstanding & the clarity and imaging is beautiful.

Sounds pretty great. Pretty beefy, yet dynamic. Sleeve and whole package is pretty quality. My only quandary is, does Van Morrison get filed under “V” or “M”? I think that’s a deep metaphysical question that mankind has yet to solve.
