Edited 3 months agoi really wish they’d do a double lp of this album like low end. there nothing that shines in this pressing. super quiet music almost drowned out by the surface noise. pops and crackle everywhere even after a deep clean. speaking of clean, it arrived FILTHY, even worse than old thrift store records. this album is amazing and i wish they’d give it the treatment it deserves. was NOT precise, was NOT bass heavy and was NOT just right. i might just exchange for a cd. -
Do keep in mind that the songs you hear here in this albums that are posted down as a reference are not the same that you will hear on the original Repressed album -
Creative, original, Q-Tip has an incredible flow, great production and love the album cover.
One of the best and most influential rap groups ever. Love it! -
Edited one year agoI’m really pleased with the sound (it also helps that the pressing is a very quiet one), but brand new out of the package the LP was pretty dusty and needed some cleaning. I know none of the new reissues have it, but it bums me out that this doesn’t come with the original inner sleeve with all the sample credits and some extra artwork.
Also, this record is a couple minutes longer than The Low End Theory, yet it’s a single LP with almost twice the music per side as vinyl copies of LET. I’d love to see a single LP with the original sequencing of the record if possible.
