Idles – Tangk

This packaging is really really bad. Typical terrible picture disc packaging, with a non-picture disc album. PVC off-gassing was already showing alarming signs of progress immediately upon opening. Album was borderline glued inside the package, and once removed you could see permanent indentation of the record in the packaging. I genuinely regret pre-ordering this variation of the album, I didn't know upon pre-order that it would be PVC packaging. I have since removed my copy from it's packaging, and stored the vinyl in a proper protective sleeve.

Album itself sounds great. But if kept in this original packaging, it will not sound great for long.

Love the bass on Dancer! It's exellent with Joe's perfect enunciation of "pirouette".

By purchasing all the different variants you can actually assemble a wonderful package. You need the lyric book. Then the translucent smoke vinyl is the most beautiful with its PVC see-thru sleeve and type. Then, to act as cover, you slip in the signed print (which only cost 1p!). Finally, it all goes inside another PVC sleeve to protect the printed PVC sleeve.

I have put the record in it's own nagaoka sleeve so it's no longer in with the PVC – which would eventually damage the record.

Mine hasn’t arrived yet, but is that shadowy markings bottom right part of the design?

For me, this pressing plays a lot better than the regular ones (I have the yellow translucent). I have all the other PVC sleeve versions of the other albums and those were also all better pressings than the regular ones. Not sure if just a coincidence or my setup or something different in how they press them.

Banging album. Loved the released songs and was pleasantly surprised with the rest.
