Edited 5 months agoI own this variant and the transparent sea blue one that's more or less the standard and I feel this is the superior one to own. The gatefold packaging for this one is a nice bonus and the color choice for the splatter fits well with the album artwork. Sound wise it's on par with other releases from the band- loud, clean, and crisp.
-
The vinyl features a simple low volume mastering bringing the music closer to the noise floor, which is sort of a no-no, but at least the spectral levels and the overall equalization sound intact. What does really bother me is extra carbon build-up that covers the needle while playing it through. Hopefully it's just leftover plastic sitting in the grooves, because if it's not, then I don't have to explain why that's not good. Music also cuts out during distorted sections in tracks that are ironically crunched down through enormous compression. I'll it, I do use an AudioTechnica MicroLine needle, so it brings out the best and the worst in records, but vinyl pressing has been a system that's been around for generations and really shouldn't be an issue in this day and age.

my copy sounds meh, unfortunately. so much less clearer then the digital version. side A has better songs and sounds not good at all

Edited 5 months agoThis version is still available on LPs website for $32. Don’t pay scalpers. Great album! Pressing is decent but not great. It has noise issues (it’s a loud album so not a major thing) and sounds dynamically dull/flat. It does sound marginally better than the standard sea blue pressing. This one is also a nice gatefold versus a single sleeve.

Anyone else’s gatefold? Wasn’t expecting it - pleasant surprise. Also the vinyl sleeve is pictured, not the white one shown here. UK variation? Great sounding and looking album.

Such a great album!! And the pressing is perfect. Looks beautiful. Drums pop, and the vocals are crisp
