Edited 3 days agoI bought and replaced at least 5 copies and EVERYONE of them had the same problems: a pop here or there which wasn't due to dust. After the 5th replacement I gave up and took the last copy with me which has some pops in the intro of Soma. It's annoying. Overrall I think this has great dynamics, a bit static but nothing that invasive

Outstanding pressing with a superb sound, very punchy and great dynamics. You can't go wrong with this one.

Edited one month agoI have a beautiful U.S. pressing of the 2011 remaster and, Today, I received the black Euro 2025 remaster. I have a copy of the red smoke Euro on its way from Denmark as well, in case the black was inferior.
First, I just have to give a giant, congratulatory shoutout to GZ for pressing what is essentially perfect vinyl. Dead centered, dead flat, and high gloss. Visually flawless. Aside from my Fear Inoculum pressings, this could very well be the best GZ wax in my collection. They can certainly do great things.
I haven't A/B'd anything yet, but my memory tells me the 2011 is probably a more impressive experience. Even if that's true, this is certainly no slouch. It is an excellent cut and pressing. This is a desert island record for me and I'd be perfectly happy if this was my only copy. I will A/B.
Looking forward to hearing and seeing the red smoke. Will be amazing if it sounds as good as the black. If it does, I'll probably sell this one and stick with the red.
Grateful to Billy for putting such care into this release.
UPDATED: Got the red smoke -- sounds terrific and as good as the black. Getting rid of the black because the red smoke is more interesting to look at and possibly rarer. -

Edited one month agoOverall good press, flat but some minor surface noise in the quieter parts of the record. This has same matrix as RSD Essentials red smoke variant. Sounds huge, great detail and dynamics. Cool to finally have the OG cover art.

It doesn’t sound better or worse than the other pressings. If you’re looking for this version, it’s at least not going to let you down that it sounds worse.
