Only took Blue Note 50 years to correctly spell Bob's name on the front cover.

I was perfectly happy w the BN Classics reissue, which sounds good. But then I found a fairly priced VG+ copy of this, and I have no need for the Classics reissue anymore.

This thing is bursting with energy compared to the BN Classics. Granted stereo v mono will show up that way in certain respects regardless of the pressing, but there is just more of everything here, most notably the cymbals and piano, but to my ears the biggest difference is Joe Henderson. In the BN Classics, he sounds neutered by comparison — and, to repeat, I _like_ the BN Classics version. Just different strokes.

I’ve seen some say the mono is cut hot, and I would not disagree. But it’s not too hot for me.

This is one of the all time classic Jazz albums. Frankly, similar to "Kind of Blue" there's nothing to dislike about this album, even if you believe you don't like Jazz. This particular pressing is quite superb. Well worth finding a good copy if you can.
