The runouts are hand-etched. The Optimal stamper numbers are etched in mirrored orientation (3 to 5 chars building up an own group within the runout string).
Two separate pressings of AMSP on Opaque White exist based on matrix runouts.
One is by Optimal Media GmbH (this pressing) and the other is by Rainbo Records (here).
"Variants 1, 4 & 5" of the Optimal Media pressing (see Barcodes and Other Identifiers) have a sticker with the correct barcode and catalog number XLLP790X stickered over the barcode of the regular black vinyl issue outside the sealing foil, indicating that white vinyl copies of the Optimal Media pressing are actually packaged in covers made for the regular issue. The catalog number on the spine of the Optimal Media pressing is "XLLP790". Records are housed in thin paper printed inner sleeves.
The Rainbo pressing has the correct barcode printed on the back cover with 'XLLP790' printed below as the catalog number. Records are housed in thick cardboard printed inner sleeves.

Seems like a must have got a bad egg as the sound is pretty disappointing, my copy is very distorted and muffled. Just a very muddy sounding pressing.
Bummed as sought out this particular pressing after reading the reviews, I guess every run has to have a crummy copy. Seems I drew the short straw :( -
Beautiful press. The white is absolutely beautiful and the art for this release has to be some of the best art produced for a Radiohead album. In of sound quality, it's great; low surface noise, no pops or clicks, songs are nice and loud. Could *maybe* boost the volume on Thom's vocals but that's just a nitpick. Highly recommend. -
It’s a shame for me that I bought this on vinyl because there is no benefit over the cd. The production is a bit muddy generally but the vinyl suffers more from it. This along with some weird distortion on ‘The Numbers’ makes me wish I had not bothered with the vinyl. I would be interested in hearing this on Quboz in high resolution digital audio to see whether it is just the physical audio that sounds poor.

Edited 8 months agoA wonderful piece of art that I've had several approaches to. Excellent in every possible way sound, great packaging and cool white color of the plates. Silent surface. A worthy final(?) point from Radiohead.

Edited one year agoMy pressing is really good sounding, all the string arrangements sound gorgeous. The only problem I had, also if I buyed the Mint condition, sealed, on side D there is a scratch, quite a few pops and clicks especially between Present Tense and Tinker Taylor. Tried cleaning it well but there's no way of taking them off. There's also quite a bit of distortion on Daydreaming, It might be only my pressing but for the rest pretty good sound, I love the white colour.

Bought this on the week of release from an indie shop in Budapest, HU. The store included a Moon album artwork poster with each purchase. Came rolled up and separate. No one else got this in 2016? -
Mine has non-fill on side B, mostly on Decks Dark and a little on Desert Island Disk. The rest sounds very good. I've heard better, but this is still very nice. Anyway, I've ordered the cd instead of gambling on another one...

One of the best sounding records I own. No surface noise, dynamic sound, super strong bass, amazing. My only complaint is that the inner sleeves are really flimsy. Both had splits when my copy arrived.
