Reviews

I've seen plenty of bad reviews on these Def Jam anniversary releases. But this one sounds good and clear enough to me. I guess it being just about 45 minutes of music it does sound good in one LP. Some of the other Def Jam reissues were 50+ minutes of music squeezed into one LP, so yeah I could imagine some drop off in quality.
I agree with others about the printed sleeves, I see I am gonna have to buy another sleeve for long term usage. -
Vinyl sounds great, sleeve looks like it was printed on an old xerox machine.. Terrible! But that said, it’s the music that counts, right?

my copy has a "made in poland" on rear shrink. runout is variant 4.
and i can confirm sounds like small and cheap bluetooth speaker, not like hi-fi.
terrible...

Excellent pressing - though it needs a really solid ultrasonic clean before playback. Remastering is solid, and artwork looks great. Can’t agree with other comments that the original sounds better - this is a really tired argument, that gets thrown around like rice at a wedding. Yes, some original pressings can’t be sured, but a remaster by a great engineer, from a reliable source, and pressed at a reputable pressing plant, will almost always deliver better results.

This sounds phenomenal. Great dynamics and great bass. My only complaint is the terrible inner sleeve because it put a few surface marks on side 2. Luckily it is inaudible. Other than that it is awesome.
-
Mine has a 'Made in ' sticker on rear shrink. Unbelievable value for money pressing. Sounds absolutely immaculate. Silent surface on flat, well centred disc. Plenty of tight and punchy low end and no sibilance with a smooth mid range. Vocal detail (and the rough technique) shines on this. Don't even hesitate. A great player.
