Stunning stuff from the golden era of this and many labels. Timeless, important, relevant and beautiful.
One & Only, hard to think of tracks that are better than this from the era, with its genre defining soaring vocals, delicate, yet devastating breaks and punchy bass.
Dreams is a harder edged dance floor weapon, with punchy beats and bass, woven together with hypnotic pads, samples and haunting vocals. The 2nd drop is outstanding too. -
Edited 4 years agoBeautiful... way ahead of it's time & sounds decent now.
To think One & Only was produced in 1995?! Superb piece of music, anybody who owns it, don't sell it.
Great beats, pads, chords and strings, nice vocal, plus a cool subtle sample of a Tango + Ratty tune... all used to perfection. You're my one & only indeed.
Bukem used to batter this and rightly so - highlighted on the excellent Bukem Mixmag mix CD. The remix from 2002 is also very good.
D&B lovers had it so good around 95-96. -
Edited 7 years agoI have just got my 2nd copy of this Today, I really don't get why the hell I sold it, I am holding on to this one.

I it getting dance 12" of the week in nme, looks like it's cheep enough I'll have to buy it agane. -
Not much to say about this tune, if you do not have it you need to get. Makes alot of drum n bass tunes today sound poor. Some real substance here.

Edited 18 years ago'One and Only' is a track surely at the top of the PFM pyramid of releases. Could replace Paul McKenna in the world of hypnotism. The beats dance through this track with finesse and grace accompanied by chords of magic. The vocals were actually recorded last to put the cherry on the icing on the cake. 'Can't you see, Your my one and only' The flip side takes us on a more lazy journey. Dreams flows along with simplicity. LTJ Bukem finds genius close to his own with PFM.

Edited 20 years agoThe first side is a really nice tune from the Logical Progression album, with dreamy synth washes, Rhodes and female vocals over drums like the crack of a whip. The flip side is just as good and has graced many a Bukem set. You might think I’m joking but there will come a time when this sort of music is no longer associated with shampoo adverts and nature documentaries, the punters will be clamouring for it, the wheel will have turned and this will be one of the essential tunes to have in your box. Oh yes…
