Pretty good pressing of a really fantastic compilation. If you see it at Big Lots for $19.99 don't hesitate.
It is worth it alone for Art Garfunkel's live rendition of "For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her." -
I must have gotten lucky as my pressing is silent, and the pressing arrived with no blemishes or issues. -
One of my favorite albums of all time.
However, my copy has white-colored smears all over the black vinyl. I can't explain why. These white smears (it almost looks like a bad, slightly white-colored marble job that failed badly), don't seem to affect the play.
Also, my copy is without dynamics, and the vinyl is pretty noisy.
After reading the other comments here, I'm surprised not to hear other complaints similar to mine.
I'm quite disappointed by this pressing. It would appear that I was unlucky on this one.

Edited 4 years agoThis record is satisfactory for any non serious audiofiles - The record is silent which is essential for the soft sound of S&G. The sound is full but I'm quite confident from a digital source. It is not a go to album to show off my system, but am happy to play it for guests. All in all, if you love the music of S&G, this will get the job done. Overall a solid pressing.

Edited 4 years agoHave to agree with two previous reviewers. These Sony Legacy represses are fantastic, same goes for their Janis Joplin/Big Brother/Holding Company re-releases. Clean, robust sonics.

Chalk another one up for Sony Legacy, perfectly flat, silent, clean, centered, and excellent sonics. -
Excellent pressing, highly recommended, completely silent. Not the mention the wonderful music.
