Edited one year agoSo, trying to figure out the difference between this gray label and the silver label version that was released 3 days earlier, according to Discogs. Neither make any mention of Elektra, as they didn’t press their versions until November. They were both mastered at Frankford Wayne New York and pressed at the same plant: Hauppage. The labels are about the only difference. The runouts on the silver label version end in A-1 both sides. The runouts on this one end A- both sides, no “1”. Maybe they planned to press a certain amount (silver labels) and orders came in way over their plan, and they had to rush job a bunch more labels to meet demand (gray)?
The only other difference is this one sells for less than the silver label, and has 5,500 fewer people with it on their waitlist.
There’s a story there, anyone know what it is? -
I have this pressing with a diagonal cut upper right corner. I believe it is a promo cut because the album was too new and too popular to be a cut out. No promo stamp or label. Anyone else have a copy like this or have info about it?

Hello Fans. Is this a second press Megaforce records, without the address on the label? Or is it first pressing edited in parallel with the one that has the address on the label? Thank you for your response, from Belgium.

I have this version. Does anyone have any additional information about it? It seems extremely rare? Even more rare than A-1 matrix.
I wonder how many of these are out there. -
Edited 2 years agoThis whole "translucent brown" vinyl thing is, imho, a misnomer. For instance, I bought the Talking Heads "Naked" lp new way back when and I noticed I could see through the pressing (not to mention it's way too flexible). I attributed that to Sire/pressing plant cheaping out with the carbon black & overall thickness. I think this is the most logical conclusion. Translucent brown = shitty actual vinyl production (in the vein of the RCA Dynaflex). But hey, what do I know.
