Edited 4 months agoQuestion : Am I the only one that hears a weird sound at the very beginning of Hung Up, during the clock part ?
Review:
Doesn’t sound that great tbh, a lot of sibilance (I don’t have the 2006 pressing to compare but apparently it was worse)
But I got to it that it’s heavy on the bass really dynamic and the music is loud which is great, it’s also dead silent. Overall I’m happy to own it because I really love this album but the sibilance ruins it a little. -
I went through 2 copies of this record. I returned the first one due to the sibilance, as pointed out in other comments too.
Today I received the replacement and, even though it is not as bad as the first one, it's still Madonna imitating a snake while singing "Sorry".
Either I was extremely unlucky or quality assurance was skipped for my records' batch(es).
As for the rest: the cover (gatefold) is glossy, and high quality. The inner jackets are paper, basic ones. The color of the vinyl is awesome. -
Edited 10 months agoThis is a solid pressing, hard to fault it given the original CD master mix…. Vinyl showed up flat out of the box, clean, no excessive surface noise, pressing is centered. It’s a little hot in the top end but it’s pleasing at the same time, no sibilance and no noticeable IGD, so basically matches the vibe of the original master without sounding like garbage in the inner tracks.
So well done - whomever mastered the vinyl productions. -
Cannot find my exact copy on discogs. It has this same barcode and Warner label but does not have the pink vinyl label printed on the cover. And it is not the numbered version either. I got it off Grafiti Records’ website

Considering the fact that coloured vinyl tends to get a bad rap, I have to it this pink Euro-pressing sounds a lot smoother than many a black editions.
-
The had to break up the continuous mix because it is 4 sides. So, they'd have to create 4 new mixes for any sort of "continuous" mix anyway.
I also think this might be a nod to the DJs who intend on mixing these tracks with others. I prefer it for this reason. If I want to listen to the CD version, I can do that. -
Please note that the color of this reissue is a SEMI-TRANSLUCENT pink, still almost neon pink like the original pressing but it’s NOT an opaque pink as the latter. That aside, this edition is wonderful and the quality is impressive, I’m so happy with it. 🪩

I’m very very happy with the quality of this pressing (and jacket for that matter). Dead quiet and great dynamics. However, I’m surprised more people haven’t mentioned that the sticker is affixed to the actual jacket itself. Kinda irksome but I’ll get over it

Great pressing! It sounds amazing on good speakers.
I am sad they didn’t do the original continuous mix that was originally released when the album came out. It kills the complete feel and flow of the whole album. This is baffling and I don’t know who made that decision, but it sorta stifles the artistic value of those continuous music sequences.
Overall- great album to have, as it probably won’t be repressed for years to come. This was released due to a contract to release Madonna’s entire discography on vinyl in sequence over the course of 5 years. I suspect once these pressings are done, they won’t be repressed for a long time. Get it while you can.
