Notes
Unofficial reissue which replicates the original LP version from 1994 in a gatefold jacket. However, the inside of the gatefold is mirrored. On the original version, the picture is on the left side and the lyrics on the right side. Comes with a replica of the "Misanthropy Records Newsletter & Information Summer ´94" newsletter and the "Supreme Nordic Art" postcard.
Hype sticker on protective outer bag.
Some copies have the sticker on plastic outer sleeve or directly on the sleeve. Some copies seem to have tiny DIY signs.
Limited to 200 copies.

Received a copy with slightly different sticker on the sleeve. Its printing quality is not the best, same as the rest of those pixelated stickers on this edition, yet the font looks somehow closer to the original. Some signs of DIY are visible, who knows what's going on with this replica hahah! Extras look good. Again, printing quality has a few issues, but nothing serious. The vinyl itself lays flat and silent. Surprising sound quality for a replica. Overall, looks and sounds great, far better than BOB releases in every aspect. With its flaws here and there, this is the best possible deal for this album, almost identical to the original issue. Haven't come across any of Cympophane replicas to make a comparison, but, apart from some minor changes to the back sleeve, vice versa artworks inside the gatefold and some tiny flaws, Pure Holocaust replica is definitely worth picking up. Recommended!

Edited 8 months agoHere is my comparison breakdown of the PH version compared to the original and Cympophane replica. = Cymophane replica. PH = Pure Holocaust.
Keep in mind that is an exact replica while PH is a branded replica. Since PH is not supposed to be an exact copy I won't drop marks for differences.
Front & Back Cover
---------------
- Darker tone than the original. Background is completely white. Original is off-white (looks more natural). Almost no cropping. Glossy cover. Original is matte. 9.5/10. Would have given full marks if matte cover used and pure white avoided.
PH - Tone closer to the original and matte cover but pure white background. Almost no cropping on front cover but noticeable cropping on the back cover. Some very minor details missed on the front cover. PH branding instead of Misanthropy/Cymophane. 8/10
Inside artwork
------------------
- Practically exactly like the original. Faithful reproduction of the art and text. Glossy (the original is also glossy). 10/10
PH - Matte and not glossy. Artwork is good but not reproduced as well and some detail is lost. Inside art/text are on opposite sides. 8/10
Vinyl
------
- mostly white with some attempt at a smokey coloration. Some copies have a green colour tint and others a greyish tint. Not enough tinting to match the original. Looks nice though and sound is good. 8/10
PH - Much closer to the original with its smokey tinting.Still needs more/thicker tinting to match the original. Sound is good. 9/10
Vinyl centre stickers
--------------------------
- closer to the original with minimal cropping. 9.5/10
PH - more cropping but still looks good. 8.5/10
Extras
--------
- Merch leaflets are ok. Not great reproduction of the newsletter. Nice large copy of the Supreme Nocturnal Art postcard. My original does not have this compare but looks good. No hype sticker. 7.5/10 overall
PH - Better newsletter reproduction. Postcard printing very good. Hype sticker included but not exactly the same font. 9/10
Overall winner - replica (9.5/10). The replica is amazing and faithful to the original. The quality is outstanding. The PH version is slightly let down by back cover cropping and the inner photo reproduction as well as cropping on the vinyl centres. Extras look great. Vinyl looks/sounds great.
PH has its own branding and is therefore not trying to be a 100% proper replica. PH is definitely worth picking up (9/10)
I haven't done a detailed sound comparison because I can't be bothered and its all very subjective. Both sound good but the PH one is maybe a tad louder.
Buy one or the other or buy both if you can afford it. You won't be disappointed with either!
